The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is on the trace of different properties worth N500M allegedly linked to Gusau Local Government Chairman Abubakar Imam in Kaduna and Kano States respectively.
A senior officer of the Commission who gave his name as Mr. Dele confirmed to Zamfara Newsletters on the condition of anonymity that, "the Commission acted on the petition written against Abubakar Imam, the Executive Chairman of Gusau Local Government, by some top Gusau Local Government senior staff who were sidelined in the running of council affairs by the Chairman."
Some secret documents yet to be released pending the final investigation show that on August 28, 2027, Abubakar Imam, the Executive Chairman of Gusau Local Government, purchased a five-bedroom apartment in Kaduna at Ungwan Rimi, Kaduna, at the rate of ₦150,000,000, and another abandoned filling station within Hayin Alhaji Housing Quarters at the rate of ₦300,000,000.
In the same development, another property in Kano Zoo Road (mini plaza) allegedly linked to Honourable Abubakar Imam was also uncovered to have been bought at the rate of ₦45,000,000.
As at the time of compiling this report, all efforts to hear from the Honourable Chairman of Gusau Local Government proved abortive.
